On September 21, 2018, BASF and Sichuan Jinxiang, which are representative and influential in the world chemical industry and China's nitrogen fertilizer manufacturing fields, successfully joined hands and signed a strategic cooperation agreement on stable nitro compound fertilizer in Chengdu. This marks that the cooperation between the two sides has entered a substantive stage.

At the meeting, everyone had in-depth communication and discussion on the current status of the international and domestic nitrogen fertilizer industry, the future development trend of agriculture, the future development direction of enterprises and the future further cooperation plan.
While it has many advantages, nitro fertilizer is also a fast-acting fertilizer, with nitrate nitrogen moving fast in the soil, fast crop uptake, and short duration of fertilizer effect. In order to reduce nitrogen fertilizer loss, improve nitrogen fertilizer utilization, and create "super" nitro fertilizer with longer fertilizer efficiency and more significant yield increase effect. This time, Sichuan Jinxiang and BASF added BASF's imported nitrification inhibitor DMPP on the basis of Sichuan Jinxiang nitro fertilizer. This nitro fertilizer can control the nitrification reaction rate, greatly improve the nitrogen fertilizer utilization rate, reduce nitrogen fertilizer loss, reduce the amount of fertilizer and the frequency of fertilization.
At present, Sichuan GESC and BASF have jointly developed a synergistic fertilizer, Wistom®, which can improve nitrogen fertilizer efficiency, increase crop yield and crop quality, and reduce the pollution of groundwater and atmosphere caused by fertilization. At the same time, efficient fertilizers can not only improve economic benefits by increasing yield, but also increase economic benefits by reducing the number of fertilizer operations and reducing fertilizer consumption. In today's increasingly serious environmental pollution and the application of a large number of chemical fertilizers, the birth of Wistom® products is undoubtedly a major change in chemical fertilizers and agriculture.
In March 2018, Sichuan GESC conducted a fertilizer efficiency test containing DMPP nitro fertilizer on corn in Qingshen Heilong Town, and the test showed that DMPP slow-release fertilizer could significantly improve the biological and economic traits of maize, and had the effect of losing 20% to increase yield and income. Compared with the conventional area, the yield of maize in the experimental treatment area increased by 43.6 kg, an increase of 7.38%. The new output value of mu was 104.64 yuan, and the new net income was 58.64 yuan. The production-to-investment ratio is 1.27:1.
In addition, Sichuan GESC has also carried out many experiments on the effect of DMPP-containing nitro fertilizer on lettuce, lotus white and other crops in Henan, Hebei, Shandong and other places, and the test results show that DMPP-containing nitro fertilizer will not affect crop yield and quality even if the dosage is reduced by 20%.
